Regulations & Requirements

At God’s Modulated Miracles Hiking Club, our mission is to create a safe, uplifting, and spiritually enriching hiking experience for every member. To ensure the well-being of all participants and honor God’s creation, we require every hiker to follow these safety guidelines.

1. Pre-Hike Requirements ✅

  • Registration & Waivers

    • All participants must register online or on-site before joining any hike.

    • A signed liability waiver is required for all hikers.

    • Minors (under 18) must have parental or guardian consent.

  • Health & Fitness

    • Ensure you are physically able to complete the selected trail.

    • If you have any medical conditions, please inform the hike leader privately.

    • Carry any personal medications (e.g., inhalers, EpiPens).

  • Gear & Clothing

    • Wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes or boots.

    • Bring weather-appropriate clothing — layer up if necessary.

    • Carry a backpack with essentials:

      • At least 1–2 liters of water

      • Healthy snacks or energy bars

      • Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses

      • Rain jacket or poncho if needed

2. On-Trail Safety Rules 🏞️

  • Stay with the Group

    • Never hike ahead or fall behind without notifying a hike leader.

    • Follow all marked trails — no shortcuts or off-path exploring.

  • Buddy System 👥

    • Every hiker must stay paired with at least one hiking buddy.

  • Listen to Leaders

    • Always follow the instructions of the hike leaders and safety guides.

    • If you feel unwell or injured, notify a leader immediately.

  • Hydration & Rest

    • Take regular water breaks and pace yourself.

    • Rest stops will be scheduled — avoid overexertion.

  • Respect Nature 🌿

    • Leave no trash behind — pack out everything you bring in.

    • Do not disturb wildlife or remove plants.

    • Stay on designated trails to protect the ecosystem.

3. Weather & Emergency Preparedness 🌦️

  • Weather Monitoring

    • Hikes may be rescheduled or canceled due to unsafe conditions (storms, wildfires, extreme heat, etc.).

  • Emergency Procedures

    • In case of injury, notify the hike leader immediately.

    • First-aid kits will be available at all times.

    • Emergency contact numbers and local rescue details will be shared before each hike.

  • Communication

    • Carry a fully charged phone.

    • In areas without signal, follow the hike leader’s safety plan.

4. Age & Participation Requirements 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

  • Individual Members: Ages 16+ may hike alone with parental consent if under 18.

  • Family Members: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times.

  • Group Size Limits: To ensure safety, hikes may have a maximum participant limit depending on the trail.

5. Spiritual Alignment & Community Conduct ✝️

  • Begin and end each hike with a short prayer or meditation.

  • Treat fellow hikers with kindness, respect, and encouragement.

  • No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use on any SpiritStride Hiking Club hikes.

  • Maintain a positive, Christ-centered atmosphere during all activities.

6. Liability & Personal Responsibility ⚠️

  • Hiking involves inherent risks.

  • By joining any hike, members acknowledge they are participating voluntarily and assume full personal responsibility for their safety.

  • The club and its organizers are not liable for injuries, losses, or damages.

7. Checklist Before Every Hike 📝

✔ Signed waiver submitted
✔ Proper hiking shoes
✔ Weather-appropriate clothing
✔ Backpack with water, snacks, and essentials
✔ Fully charged phone
✔ Positive attitude and open heart ❤️
